Does the Hustle and Bustle of the Holidays Overwhelm You?

Thanksgiving is days away and the holiday season follows right behind. For most of us, this means that on top of our already long ‘to do’ lists, we have tons of holiday related activities and things to do as well. The holidays are exciting for sure, yet for those of us who are sensitive to the energies around us, exciting times can quickly become over-stimulating and too much.

In the past, when things got to be too much energetically for me, I caught a cold, got laryngitis, the flu or felt overwhelmed by everything. On those days, I took a mental health day and slept half the day.

But when we check out and disconnect from life, are we being authentic and in our power?

Honestly, no.

Instead, when our life and times are super hectic and energies abound, what if we became proactive and gave ourselves Quiet Time?

Quiet time is a time, place and space where we get to recharge our batteries. We get to chill, relax, stop, yes, STOP and simply be.

Tips on Creating Quiet Time:

  1. Quiet time is a silent time, seriously not even music, so you can connect inside, to your own soul or the wise one inside, hear or simply breathe.
  2. Take a walk or hike in nature be it the woods or the beach. And breathe.
  3. Sit by a waterfall or lake. And breathe.
  4. Do a restorative yoga pose like Viparita Karani (Legs-Up-the-Wall) or Savasana (Corpse Pose). And breathe.
  5. Sit in front of a fire. And breathe.
  6. Sit in meditation. And breathe.
  7. What, where and when you create space for your Quiet Time isn’t as important as doing it. Also, notice how important it is to breathe for that’s when inspiration from your own soul and all the divine comes.

If you are feeling a bit overwhelmed – in ANY area of your life — you can take one baby step in the right direction SIMPLY by taking an inspired action. And I am here for you!

I’ve opened up my calendar, so we can schedule a time to chat. Let me help you gain clarity on what you REALLY want, so you can already begin to feel clearer-minded and better about the path you are choosing to take, moving through the holidays. Email me at and let me know you that you want to chat before my calendar fills up.

I can’t wait to chat with you. Sending you a big hug!

Love and blessings,

Thank you Catherine, great reminder. I always remember someone saying, sometimes you have to go hide in the bathroom for a few minutes to get 2 minutes of privacy! Whatever! Just find 2 minutes and go hide, “breath” and chill. Happy Thanksgiving to you!

    • Hi Judy,

2 minutes of privacy is a great suggestion. I used to rebalance my chakras in the restroom and it definitely helped to allow myself to take the time in the restroom to do this, breath and chill. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours too.
