Are You Feeling Stuck and Want to Get Moving?

Whenever you’re feeling stuck and want to get moving, here’s a great way to get going and back in the flow. Clear out your physical space.

When you’re moving to a new place, whether it’s across town or another state like I am, the less you have to move the better.

Most people don’t realize how they’re old stuff weighs them down, holds them back and actually over time becomes a burden. Everything is energy. So, the more we hold onto things, the more those things have a hold on us and our energy.

No wonder you can’t move forward when homes, offices, garages, attics, storage units and basements are filled to the brim and overflowing.

5 Top Tips for Clearing Physical Space

  1. When I start a clearing out project, I create the intention for it to be easeful and to be Divinely Guided on what to release.
  2. I create space in one room for 4 piles – Donations – Recycling – Garbage – Shred
  3. Set a timer. If clearing feels difficult or challenging to you, then let yourself do it in short periods of time. Set a timer for 5-10 minutes to start. You can keep clearing if you like when the times is up since you may be on a roll and want tobuild momentum, then go for it. That short time, gives you permission to call it quits one day and come back to it the very next day.
  4. Start in an easy place instead of tackling a place that’s super emotional. Let’s say a spouse who has transitioned to the other side. Start in a kitchen cabinet and toss any foods that passed their expiration dates.
  5. Ask yourself these questions once you get to the closets, shelves, etc.
    • “Does it give me joy?”
This is my favorite and most important question and helps me eliminate things quickly.
If it does, then, keep it. I have a stool that I received for Christmas when I was 4 and I still have it. In fact, it sits under my desk and whenever I’m working on my computer, I always put my feet on it. Sure, it could be repainted, but it gives me joy and I use it, so this is a no brainer. However, I had a copy of Melodie Beattie’s book, Journey to the Heart. It used to give me joy, though now it’s water damaged and old, so it goes.
    • “What condition is it in? Does it work? Is it chipped, damaged, stained?
As you go through items in your closets and cabinets storage, these are great questions to ask. They help you eliminate items more easily.
I had a favorite coat sweater I wore for years but then it started to get those sweaters bumps and the frog toggle loop got torn and though a part of me didn’t want to let it go, it went in the Goodwill bag.
    • “Do you still use it? Do you still wear it?”
Often there are items in our closets, bins, storage that haven’t been used in years. We think, maybe someday, so we hold onto them. However, when we release them, we let go of their energy which is extremely important. I had a shawl from my ex that I loved dearly, yet it had that energy with it. To help myself release energies from this past relationship, I gave the shawl to a friend to enjoy.

In coming weeks I’ll share info about clearing on other levels as well for whenever we choose to expand, grow and make a big change in life, all of our old fears, doubts, etc, resurface and need to be addressed.

Love & blessings,
